OGA Dota PIT 2020 Online: China is about to enter its Playoffs Stage and only 6 of the initial 9 teams are left. Keep in mind that this is a Chinese event that brings together the best teams in the region. So you definitely don’t want to miss the show if you can wake up or go to sleep at a reasonable hour that allows you to watch it.
The Group Stage of OGA Dota PIT 2020 Online: China went more or less according to plan, in the sense that the best teams survived the groups and advanced to the Playoffs. Here’s what happened in short:

The winners of each group are qualified directly for the second round of Upper Bracket matches. The 2nd and 3rd place teams will also start in the Upper Bracket but will play in the first round of matches. The format being used for the Playoffs is double-elimination. This means that each team has two lives instead of one.
Here’s a brief analysis of the 6 teams that will compete in OGA Dota PIT 2020 Online: China Playoffs.
PSG.LGD has had its worst season so far, at least of the last 4 years. The Chinese powerhouse finished 2nd at The International 2018 and 3rd at The International 2019. But after these great seasons, some of its players had to take care of some health problems while others left. Left without a coach and a key roster member, PSG.LGD initially decided to take a break and then tried to come back but with little success. After several months of disappointments, they finally managed to score by winning WESG 2019 China Finals. Even though this wasn’t a DPC event, it was still a confidence booster. However, at the very next International tournament, PSG.LGD finished 9th – 10th out of 12 teams. And this was highly significant because the best teams in the world attended the tournament.
In recent months, the Chinese squad managed to win the title at WeSave! Charity Play China by crushing Vici Gaming in the Grand Final in just 3 quick games. Then they beat their rival again, at China Dota2 Professional League Season 1. This time though, the match was much harder and the final score was 3 – 2.
At ESL One Los Angeles 2020 Online China, PSG.LGD entered the race with high expectations. Or at least, the community was expecting a lot from them, simply because they were now the former team that had impressed at multiple TIs. And since they had just won 2 titles, why not win a third? After all, this was yet another Chinese competition. But instead of winning, PSG.LGD finished last! 6th out of 6 teams. It was a complete disaster. Nobody knows what happened there. But what we do know is that apart from EHOME, everybody managed to beat them at that event.
Then came CDA League Season 1, where all the big Chinese teams were present again and PSG.LGD did well against everyone except Aster, RNG and Sparking Arrow Gaming, a new competitor that took everyone by surprise and actually won the competition!
Fast forward to OGA Dota PIT 2020 Online: China, PSG.LGD has a very good chance of winning, as long as it manages to win its first Upper Bracket match against the winner between RNG and EHOME. Most likely, it will be RNG. And that’s going to be a tough opponent that recently beat them in the CDA League.
Vici Gaming is currently ranked 2nd in the Dota Pro Circuit, so expectations are high from this competitor. After finishing 2nd and 3rd at the first two Majors of the season, anything less than a Grand Final participation at OGA Dota PIT 2020 Online: China would be a disappointment.
No matter what angle you choose to look at Vici Gaming, their odds of winning look great. First of all, the roster is world-class almost in its entirety. Of course, Eurus shines above all, just because he’s probably the best carry/midlaner in the world. At least while ana is missing from the professional scene. And second of all, Vici’s results over the last few seasons have been more than decent. And since most of the roster stayed the same, we can assume that the good times will continue for the Chinese giant.
Outside of DPC events, VG had oscillating performances. But in most cases, they did great: 2nd place at WeSave! Charity Play China, 2nd place at China Dota2 Professional League Season 1, 4th place at ESL One Los Angeles 2020 Online China, and 7th place at CDA League Season 1. This last result was rather poor and it’s the most recent one. However, given that the league did not offer much money, I think it’s safe to assume that VG may have lacked the motivation to prepare for it. Or perhaps they simply didn’t want to showcase their best strategies at a tournament that offered them nothing important. What’s certain is that at OGA Dota PIT 2020 Online: China, Vici Gaming only lost to EHOME so far. They defeated both CDEC and iG, showing good gameplay against each of them.
Overall, we don’t expect VG to win this tournament. But we do expect them to get at least a top 3 result.
The first Upper Bracket match between RNG and EHOME is definitely worth following. If you place a bet, you should probably bet on RNG, just because they won 5 out of their last 6 matches against EHOME. But more importantly, the winner of this match could potentially beat PSG.LGD in the second round. Both of these teams won their last match against them, so that is going to be a very interesting dispute.

Another team that has done well in recent weeks is Invictus Gaming. This competitor finished 2nd at CDA League Season 1 and is ranked 5th in the Dota Pro Circuit. This practically means that they’re the 5th best team in the world. Or at least they were during the first part of the season. Based on that information, Invictus Gaming might just surprise everyone and go all the way to the Grand Final of OGA Dota PIT 2020 Online: China.
