GLL Grand Slam Odds: A look at the favorites

The main question is: who is going to be the best team of the tournament?

There are many contenders for the victory in the GLL Grand Slam, because there are a lot of strong teams among the participants. Who do we bet on? Let's look through the odds of the obvious favorites.

FaZe Clan

With the start of competitive PUBG, the FaZe Clan squad has been the clear favorite on every tournament. They won the first tournament of the StarSeries & i-League Series, then punished everyone at DreamHack PUBG Showdown Austin 2018, and were among the top three teams in all subsequent tournaments in which they participated.

But, as time went on their competition, got stronger and stronger, so it was harder for FaZe Clan to win and add other trophies to their collection. There were some changes in the team: Jembty left, and his place was taken by ubah, who left Natus Vincere at the time. Aitzy joined the team a bit later. The guys needed a little time to play and practice together, so the time was not wasted in vain.

The team was waiting for the PUBG Europe League, where they managed to show their full potential. In the first phase of PEL, ubah and his squad ranked third: they lacked 14 points to catch up with Se7en eSports and take the second position. However in the second phase of the PEL FaZe did their best and managed to take first place.

The team gained 705 points, and it was the best result within the second season of PUBG Europe League. Thus, FaZe Clan certainly cannot be written off, because these guys have proven that they can crush everyone on their way to the championship. ubah and his squad should at least reach top 3 at the GLL Grand Slam and their biggest rivals are Natus Vincere and Team Liquid. So make sure to place your bets wisely.

Team Liquid

Team Liquid - another contender for winning the GLL Grand Slam. On the main tournament of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in 2018, PUBG Global Invitational 2018, ibiza and his teammates ranked second in both TPP and FPP modes. A month later, the team went to Kyiv to StarSeries & i-League PUBG Season 2, and there they took a well-deserved first place while most of the community believed it would be FaZe Clan who would take the cup. One should mention that FaZe Clan were the champions of the first season of StarSeries & i-League PUBG.

After that, Team Liquid took another trophy after taking first place in the Polaris Series 2018. During the European PUBG league, Team Liquid was showing a high level of play, as well as gifts to the community a bunch of action and beautiful moments. They finished second at PUBG Europe League 2019: Phase 1 and gained a victory at PUBG Europe League 2019: Kick-off Cup. To us, it seems like Team Liquid is on fire and ready to reach new heights. At the moment, there is a serious struggle between Team Liquid and FaZe Clan and the odds are quite equal.

Natus Vincere

Natus Vincere is the community's favorite in many esports scenes and the winner of many title tournaments, so the odds on this team are always high! And PUBG is no exception. With the advent of Na’Vi on the esports scene of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the rivalry between teams has doubled.

The path of Natus Vincere in PUBG has began with a victory in the Global Loot League Season 1, which of course pleased the Na’Vi’ fans and increased the fanbase.

Then the team led by POKAMOLODOY won the CIS qualifier for the PUBG Global Invitational 2018 and went to the main tournament of the year. Unfortunately, at the event itself, the team failed to reach the top three and it remained to be content with fourth place in FPP mode and 10th place in TPP.

After that, the team’s success went into recession and the organization decided to make changes to the roster. Drainys and ubah, who made a significant contribution, left the team. BatulinS and Recrent joined, but even after that the series of defeats continued.

The organization decided to completely change the roster and leave only POKAMOLODOY, around who the new team was gathered. Na’Vi practiced a lot for a couple of months and did not immediately show the result. They took the 14th place in the PUBG Europe League 2019: Phase 1 and 10th in the PUBG Europe League 2019: Kick-off Cup.

After analyzing their mistakes and weaknesses, Na’Vi showed what all their fans expected from them. In the second phase of PUBG Europe League 2019, POKAMOLODOY and his squad finished in first place almost every week and the guys lacked only 15 points to win: FaZe Clan scored 705, while Na’Vi - 690. Despite this, the team showed its potential and what it can do, so is there anything preventing them from winning the GLL Grand Slam? We think not.

GLL Grand Slam: Other Contenders

You should never forget about Pittsburgh Knights and G2 Esports. Both teams are in the top 10 world PUBG teams. And both teams sometimes show good results. They could be put in the same list with the favorites, but their results frankly leave much to be desired. In the second phase of the PUBG Europe League 2019, both teams entered the top five, having the Germans G2 Esports taking fifth place in the first phase.

The guys from Pittsburgh Knights have it a bit rougher than G2 Esports, because in the first phase and in the Kick-off Cup the team showed bad results. The guys are constantly trying to change players in order to achieve the desired result.

Despite this, Pittsburgh Knights can be in the top and secure high places. They placed 5th и 8th at the PUBG Global Invitational 2018, and were a runner-up of the Global Loot League Season 2, while G2 Esports only managed to secure 4th and 5th places at PUBG Europe League.

The odds of these teams to win are small, but they can do it, so you should not exclude them from the list of potential winners.

GLL Grand Slam: What About The Remaining Teams’ Odds?

Do not forget about the North American and Australians. Cloud9, Ghost Gaming and Athletico have something that might surprise. European teams meet with teams from other regions only at major tournaments such as GLL Grand Slam, so it’s extremely difficult to compare strengths.

For example, at the FACEIT Global Summit: PUBG Classic, teams from South Korea and North America managed to surprise everyone and took first and second place respectively. Team Liquid, the favorite of the tournament, ranked third.

GLL Grand Slam: Conclusion

Therefore, we have three potential winners: FaZe Clan, Natus Vincere and Team Liquid. In addition to them, the Pittsburgh Knights and G2 Esports can enter the top five. For those who likes to take risks, you can bet on teams from the North America.
