BOOM Esports Undefeated At ONE Esports Dota 2 Invitational Jakarta Qualifiers

ONE Esports Dota 2 Invitational Jakarta is a prestigious tournament with a prize pool of $500,000. Initially, the event was scheduled to take place in April but was ultimately delayed until November (23rd – 29th), due to the Coronavirus pandemic. With the ONE Esports Dota 2 Invitational Jakarta Qualifiers over, let’s take a look at the results and see which teams managed to secure a ticket for the main tournament.

ONE Esports Dota 2 Invitational Jakarta Qualifiers Details

ONE Esports Dota 2 Invitational Jakarta Qualifiers took place in two regions: Kuala Lumpur and Indonesia. For each of these regions, there was one available ticket to the main event. Even though the tournament will feature 12 teams, 10 of these competitors will receive direct invitations.

Each of the two qualifiers had a prize pool of $3,300. The money wasn’t offered to the winner as you might expect, but to the rest of the teams. The logic here is that since the winner will go to the main event and get the opportunity to earn a much more considerable amount, the small qualifier rewards should be divided among those who will remain at home.

Kuala Lumpur Qualifier

The Kuala Lumpur Qualifier had 4 participants. Two of them, Reality Rift and Cignal Ultra, are reasonably well known at this point. But the other two, 496 Gaming and MS Chonburi, are complete outsiders. Needless to say, the two favourites qualified for the Grand Final, where Reality Rift won with a score of 2 – 0. This was somewhat surprising and a reversal of what had happened in the Upper Bracket Finals, where Cignal Ultra won the match with a score of 2 – 1.

One interesting fact about the Kuala Lumpur Qualifier is that the underdogs gave the favourites a hard time. In every single match against them, they won one game and kept things competitive, despite the vast skill difference.

The complete results of the Kuala Lumpur Qualifier are the following:

Reality Rift 2 vs. 1 496 Gaming
Cignal Ultra 2 vs. 1 MS Chonburi
Reality Rift 1 vs. 2 Cignal Ultra
496 Gaming 2 vs. 1 MS Chonburi
Reality Rift 2 vs. 1 496 Gaming
Cignal Ultra 0 vs. 2 Reality Rift

As a result of this qualifier, Reality Rift will go to ONE Esports Dota 2 Invitational Jakarta. The team has already taken part in a Dota Pro Circuit Major, so they have the necessary experience to go head to head with the best teams in the world.

Indonesia Qualifier

The Indonesia Qualifier for ONE Esports Dota 2 Invitational Jakarta ended with a predictable result. BOOM Esports, a team with numerous important results in tier 2 and even tier 1 competitions, managed to secure 1st place and qualify for the main event.

However, a lot of people expected T1 to emerge victorious. The famous League of Legends organization is new to Dota 2, but their roster has a lot of big names in it: Black^, Forev, and inYourdreaM are all excellent players. But despite this, T1 finished 3rd out of 4 teams. This suggests that roster changes may be required in order to achieve the desired results. Most likely, Xuan and Jhocam, two relatively unknown players, will soon be replaced by stronger supports.

The complete results of the Indonesia Qualifier are the following:

BOOM Esports 2 vs. 0 Tyrants Uprising
T1 1 vs. 2 Team Oracle
BOOM Esports 2 vs. 0 Team Oracle
Tyrants Uprising 0 vs. 2 T1
Team Oracle 2 vs. 0 T1
BOOM Esports 2 vs. 0 Team Oracle

BOOM Esports did not lose a single game during the event, making Dota 2 bettors good profits throughout the whole thing.
